Wide-Eyed Critter
The wide-eyed critter
prances on tip toes to
the linoleum bathroom where
there is the bath tub--
the playground of sliding
slippery sleekness
shining with glimmer or glow.
The translucent sheen glides
through a high flying
light show as the disco
ball above rotates in
celestial glitter,
mirrored squares in spherical
thousands. Lights burning amber,
with reflections off the red
checkered wallpaper.
It is the roller rink of the house,
for this wide-eyed creature,
the mouse.
