The Squaking of Geese
In the morning
in the afternoon
late at night
in the early morning
the squaking of unsettled geese
in the background of our lives
these honking squaking
and hooting fowl
become a normality
a part of daily existence
perhaps like the clock tower chimes
at our previous apartment
near the University campus,
where we heard music box tinny Mozart
and classics at certain regular hours
with the chiming of the hour
we may miss this one day too
though life is full of change
